Writer
Writing has always been my thing.
I love a unique, creative project and have been lucky enough to be involved in several, from the foreword of a curry recipe book to individually tailored tales for children.
So if you have an idea which doesn't quite fit into the usual categories of journalism or PR - get in touch.
Journalist
It's more than 20 years since I first stepped into a newsroom at the tender age of 19.
I've enjoyed a varied career serving communities in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, covering court, council, hard news, human interest features and providing advertorial copy.
A former News Editor for three independent weekly titles, I still enjoy working in a newsroom - or remotely - for newspapers in the Midlands, magazines and digital platforms.
PR &
Communications
The joy of PR is working with fantastic people who are keen to tell their stories and showcase the best of what they do.
Using the right platforms to engage and enthuse the right people is the ultimate aim for any PR project.
I believe it is vital to listen and understand what organisations need to convey and work with them to identify and target key audiences.
The power of story
Before we were able to record things by writing them down, humans told stories.
Stories are our most ancient way of sharing knowledge across generations and remembering the stuff we know.
Stories are my lifeblood - whether it's a news story, a fictional tale or the story of your business, your passion, what drives you - I want to hear it.
And if you need me to, I want to help you tell it to the widest audience possible.
WRITER
As a writer I utilise my skills and experience to help clients with business and creative projects, including:
-
Typing, editing, proof-reading and formatting for independent publishing projects (plays, anthologies, books)
-
Brochure/promotional materials

A Turn of the Hourglass – a romantic fantasy novel, currently seeking representation.
I also give some time to provide PR and media assistance for Endo Support United and Teens with Endo on a voluntary basis.

PR CONTENT WRITER
I’ve been fortunate to work with some well-established organisations and companies, relaying their stories to national, regional and international press.
Experienced in traditional PR such as press releases, brochures and promotional materials, I also provide website copy and social media content alongside seeking opportunities in new markets and audience-specific sectors.
I've worked with multi-national corporations and national membership organisations, as well as growing SMEs, charities and community groups to boost their profile on a local level.
